About the role
Performs and processes radiographic (including portable) and fluoroscopic radiology tests.
Responsibilities
- Conducts radiological tests as scheduled or requested, demonstrating proficiency and timeliness.
- Operates imaging equipment to obtain high-quality images and transfers them to the PACS system.
- Documents tests and procedures accurately via computer.
- Assists with various office and clinical functions including but not limited to assisting anesthesia aides, performing pregnancy tests, EKGs, and BSGs, and helping with supply management.
- Monitors radiology supplies, oversees equipment certification, maintains a lead apron log, and reports any malfunctions.
- Reviews the operating room schedule daily and collaborates with the Clinical Supervisor and Nurse Manager to ensure adequate radiology coverage.
- Possesses a working knowledge of aseptic techniques relevant to performing tests during surgical procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality of all records and information encountered during work activities.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program.
- Experience: Experience as a radiology technician is required.
- License/Certification/Registration: Current certification as a radiology technician; meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
Qualifications
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years.
- Certifications: BLS/BCLS and ARRT certification.
Skills
- Basic computer operational skills.
- Physical strength to assist with lifting, moving, and positioning of patients, as well as handling equipment and supplies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others, maintaining a positive attitude, especially when working with individuals under physical or emotional stress.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and accurately document data.
Schedule
- 8‑hour day shift, Monday through Friday.
- Flexible start time between 6:15 AM and 7:00 AM daily.
- Holiday coverage is not required.
