About the role

TalentBurst, Inc is seeking a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment starting on August 3, 2026, in Watertown, New York.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical services to patients within scope of practice and assigned privileges
  • Perform patient assessments using age-specific growth and development principles
  • Deliver safe, high-quality, and compassionate care
  • Absorb and organize clinical workload effectively
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations
  • Maintain patient flow and organize clinical workload effectively
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and technologists to prepare procedure rooms, manage equipment, and maintain inventory of supplies
  • Document procedures accurately, including procedural notes, imaging findings, and patient outcomes
  • Educate patients on procedures, obtain informed consent, and provide pre- and post-procedure instructions
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, radiation protection standards, and infection control guidelines

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved course of study acceptable to the New York State Education Department
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Radiologic Technology or a related field; certification as a Radiologist Assistant (RA) or Physician Assistant (PA) with radiology focus preferred
  • Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography; additional certifications in CT, Ultrasound, or Interventional Radiology (e.g., RRA - Registered Radiologist Assistant) are highly desirable
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred

Qualifications

  • Experience in performing fluoroscopic procedures, including barium studies (e.g., upper GI series, small bowel follow-through, and enemas)
  • Experience in performing joint injections under fluoroscopic or ultrasound guidance
  • Experience in conducting paracentesis and thoracentesis procedures, including patient preparation, imaging guidance, and post-procedure monitoring
  • Experience in placing abscess drains using ultrasound or CT guidance, ensuring sterile technique and accurate positioning
  • Experience in performing bone marrow biopsies, including site preparation and specimen collection
  • Experience in performing biopsies with ultrasound and CT guidance for various tissues and organs, adhering to protocols for minimizing complications
  • Experience in performing ultrasound-guided and stereotactic breast biopsies as well as marker clip placement
