About the role
American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist (X-Ray) with comprehensive diagnostic imaging skills, including portable, trauma, and OR experience, for a 13-week travel assignment at a large 800-bed acute care hospital in Asheville, North Carolina.
- Shift: 12-hour evenings, 3x12hrs per week
- Hours: 36 hrs/wk
- Start Date: August 10, 2026

Staffing varies by shift: 16 technologists on days, 10 technologists on evenings, and 4 technologists on nights.
Radiology equipment includes GE rad rooms, GE and Shiatzu portables, OEC C-arms, and Medtronic O-arms. The EMR system is Cerner Rad Net.
Responsibilities
- Performs all diagnostic imaging including portable, trauma, fluoroscopic, and surgical (OR) procedures
- Operates and maintains radiology equipment
Requirements
- ARRT (R) certification required
- Proficiency in all areas of diagnostic radiology including portable and OR imaging
- ED trauma imaging experience required
- At least 2 years of clinical experience in the specialty area
- Active licensure required if applicable
- Must have worked in the specialty within the last 6 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
- Black scrubs required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Fluoroscopic procedure experience is preferred. Self-motivated candidates who can work independently as well as collaboratively within a team are the best fit for this role.
