Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts using radiation therapy equipment
• Position patients accurately and comfortably for each treatment session
• Verify treatment settings and patient identity before delivering therapy
• Maintain strict radiation safety protocols for both patients and staff
• Monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and comfort
• Use imaging technology (e.g., CT, X-rays) to guide accurate treatment delivery
• Document treatment details and maintain accurate patient records
• Communicate effectively with physicians, dosimetrists, and other team members
• Provide education to patients and families on procedures, side effects, and care during treatment
• Inspect, maintain, and calibrate radiation therapy equipment regularly

Requirements

• At least one year of experience as a Radiation Therapist
• A current BLS certification
• The ARRT (T) National Certification
• State licensure may be required
