The role of Radiation Therapist is a key position in the healthcare field, focusing on the treatment of cancer patients using radiation therapy.
Responsibilities
- Treatment planning and delivery under the supervision of a medical physicist and radiation oncologist.
- Assist in patient positioning and setup for radiation therapy treatments.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient information and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy or related health science field.
- Current license to practice as a Radiation Therapist in the state of Georgia.
- Experience in radiation therapy preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
- Passing score on the national certification exam for Radiation Therapists.
- Knowledge of radiation physics and dosimetry.
- Proficiency in computer software used in radiation therapy.
