About the role
The Quality Control Managers at Layton Construction work to understand client needs and requirements by ensuring company and customer quality standards are met. This role is responsible for maintaining quality assurance processes, testing of materials, and recording/analyzing results.
Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive inspections to align with project plans, technical specifications, and relevant project documentation.
- Foster a clean and safe environment, enforcing safety protocols.
- Effect quality corrective actions to meet project requirements and specifications.
- Prepare and deliver reports as per project specifications.
- Meticulously document test results according to established protocols.
- Engage in quality calibrations and internal audits professionally and accurately.
- Stay updated with industry knowledge through reading technical publications, attending seminars, and pursuing educational opportunities.
- Collaborate with government agencies during inspections, maintaining a cooperative and compliant attitude.
- Work with project management to ensure punctual project execution, adherence to schedules, and budget compliance.
- Develop project submittals that align with project specifications and plans.
- Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of quality control experience.
- Knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards.
- In-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and quality control standards.
- Ability to interpret instructions, both written, spoken, and in diagrams.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Highly proactive and responsive to internal and external customers.
- Able to work with all levels of management.
