About the role

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position located in Kansas City, Missouri. This role involves providing specialized patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment, focusing on cardiac, neurological, and post-operative recovery patients. The selected candidate will deliver high-quality nursing services while adhering to unit policies and protocols.

The unit has 16 beds with patient ratios of 4:1, utilizes advanced telemetry equipment, and maintains a high level of staff engagement. Candidates must possess excellent clinical skills and flexibility to float within the hospital as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit, including cardiac, neurological, and post-operative recovery patients.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data.
• Administer cardiac drips and perform basic dysthymia procedures.
• Deliver stroke care in accordance with NIHSS certification.
• Adhere to unit policies and protocols, including floating within the hospital as needed.

Requirements

• Valid nursing license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
• Experience in telemetry, neurology, or cardiac care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cardiac drips and basic dysthymia procedures.
• Experience in stroke care.

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts.
• Minimum of 36 hours per week.
