Travel PICU RN - $2,542 per week

About the Role

Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) assignment in Akron, Ohio. This is a 13-week travel position with a start date of 08/31/2026, offering 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity care to pediatric, adolescent, and some adult patients in a 23-bed PICU with an average census of 20.
• Manage ventilator-dependent patients and care for a broad PICU population, including cardiac and trauma patients.
• Participate in the ECMO program, CRRT, and post-op cardiac and neurosurgery care.
• Float to acute care inpatient units, NICU (accompanied), and the Summa location as needed (travelers are first to float).
• Utilize equipment such as Servo ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips monitors.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, Interpreter Services, and Unit Secretaries.

Requirements

• 2 years of PICU experience required.
• Experience with ventilator management and high-acuity pediatric patients.
• BSN required (Magnet facility).
• Ohio or Compact RN license in hand at submission (no exceptions).
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted).

Unit Details

The PICU serves a diverse patient population, including pediatrics, adolescents, and some adults, with a focus on cardiac and trauma cases. The unit supports advanced programs such as ECMO and CRRT.
