Travel PICU Registered Nurse - $2,855 per week

About the role

This role involves providing specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients within a dedicated unit. The position requires a committed healthcare professional with experience managing complex congenital cardiac conditions, post-operative patients, and advanced respiratory support.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Manage complex congenital cardiac conditions and post-operative patients
• Provide advanced respiratory support
• Titrate drips as needed
• Float to other units if required (first to float)
• Work night shifts with every other weekend coverage

Required Qualifications

• 2-5 years of Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience
• Experience with invasive hemodynamic monitoring, ventilators, and inotropes (including common drug drips)
• BLS and PALS certifications
• Ability to titrate drips

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with management of post-operative complex congenital cardiac patients
• Experience with Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Berlin Hearts, and HeartMate III support devices

Unit Details

• Unit size: 8-12 beds
• Patient population includes complex congenital cardiac disease, heart failure, myocarditis, cardiomyopathy, and post-operative congenital cardiac patients
• Equipment used includes ventilators, trachs, Cervos, LTVs, high-frequency ventilators, and occasionally home ventilators
• Scrubs: navy blue with option to wear colorful tops

Schedule

• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Coverage on every other weekend
• No on-call expectations
