Travel PICU Registered Nurse - $2,560 per week

About the Role

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Specialty Nurse position is located in Oakland, California. This role involves working within a Level 1 trauma center that specializes in neuro and cardiac care. The position offers night shifts and requires adaptability to float to other UCSF facilities as needed.

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 09/01/2026

Orientation hours are 24.

• Blood and blood product administration
• Seizure and arrhythmia management
• Arterial line care
• Intubation assistance
• Ventilator management
• Central line care
• Hemodynamic monitoring
• ICP monitoring
• Infection control
• Insulin administration
• NG tube management
• Pediatric dosage calculations
• PICU procedures
• Sedation monitoring
• Tracheostomy care
• Urinary catheter management
• Wound assessment

Requirements

• CA Registered Nurse (RN) license (in hand)
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• At least 5 years of experience including PICU experience
• BSN required for all RN positions

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience
• Trauma level I healthcare environment experience
• Pediatric patient care experience
• Community hospital experience
• Neuro & cardiac specialization
