About the role
Seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a travel role working under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The PTA assists in implementing treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, and promote independence by providing hands-on therapy, documenting progress, and educating patients on home exercises and safety.
Key Duties
- Preparing therapy equipment and treatment areas for sessions
- Guiding and assisting patients with prescribed exercises and transfers
- Monitoring patient performance, noting changes, and reporting to the supervising therapist
- Recording treatment details and progress accurately
- Collaborating with healthcare team members for comprehensive care
- Ensuring a safe environment following infection control and safety standards
- Supporting discharge planning and patient education
- Participating in professional development and quality assurance activities
Qualifications and skills
- Valid PTA license per state regulations
- Current BLS certification
- Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Physical ability to move equipment and assist patients
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and basic PC skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and handle physical and sensory requirements
