Travel Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

About the role

Seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a travel role working under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The PTA assists in implementing treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, and promote independence by providing hands-on therapy, documenting progress, and educating patients on home exercises and safety.

Key Duties

• Preparing therapy equipment and treatment areas for sessions
• Guiding and assisting patients with prescribed exercises and transfers
• Monitoring patient performance, noting changes, and reporting to the supervising therapist
• Recording treatment details and progress accurately
• Collaborating with healthcare team members for comprehensive care
• Ensuring a safe environment following infection control and safety standards
• Supporting discharge planning and patient education
• Participating in professional development and quality assurance activities

Qualifications and skills

• Valid PTA license per state regulations
• Current BLS certification
• Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Physical ability to move equipment and assist patients
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and basic PC skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and handle physical and sensory requirements
