Travel Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up therapy equipment and prepare treatment areas ensuring safety and cleanliness.
  • Guide and assist patients through prescribed exercises, ensuring proper technique and safety.
  • Observe and document patient progress, reporting changes to supervising therapists.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercises, assistive device use, and mobility safety.
  • Maintain a safe environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in discharge planning and quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license per state regulations.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to move equipment and assist patients, including lifting (50-100 lbs), bending, and transfers.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and following instructions, with good technical and motor skills.
  • Able to work effectively under supervision and handle irregular activity schedules.
  • Visual acuity and effective communication skills.
