About the role
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work as part of a team to provide physical therapy service under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist. The PTA will implement selected components of patient/client interventions (treatment), obtain data related to the interventions provided, and make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient/client as directed by the physical therapist or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort.
MUST HAVE INPATIENT EXPERIENCE. Patient care is provided in inpatient, outpatient, and home health settings.
Responsibilities
- Assist the physical therapist in the treatment of individuals of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives.
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience; primarily outpatient experience preferred.
- Bi-lingual capabilities helpful.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program with a certificate.
- Currently credentialed by Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Division of Professions and Occupations, State Physical Therapy Board.
- Verification card of current instruction in BLS.

- Mental: Astute communication skills with employees, physicians, visitors, administration, and public. Ability to adjust to job situations that involve many different people and projects, requiring some independent action and judgment.
- Physical: Must have the ability and competency to operate the equipment of the position; perform technical procedures; speak intelligently and in a professional manner before others; and exercise supervision and management skills.
- Working Environment: General work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work in a state-of-the-art, newly built Rehabilitation Gymnasium—clean, well-lighted, heated, and air-conditioned. Exposure to unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases possible.
Pay
Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
