Travel Physical Therapy Assistant - $1,358 per week

Responsibilities

  • Implementing Treatment Plans
  • Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities
  • Aid in patient recovery using physical therapy equipment
  • Guide patients through prescribed exercises
  • Monitor and communicate patient progress to the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Track and document changes in patient condition
  • Provide feedback on patient performance and modify treatment plans as necessary
  • Educate patients on proper body mechanics and techniques
  • Teach patients exercises, stretches, and home care strategies
  • Explain the purpose and benefits of physical therapy treatments
  • Instruct patients on how to use assistive devices and ensure safe usage
  • Offer emotional support to patients
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient progress
  • Collaborate with the Physical Therapist, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Communicate effectively with other team members
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of physical therapy equipment
  • Ensure therapy areas are tidy and organized
  • Adhere to infection control standards and ensure patient safety
  • Assist in evaluations and initial assessments
  • Monitor patients for signs of fatigue, discomfort, or injury

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of South Dakota
  • Experience in physical therapy
  • Knowledge of physical therapy equipment and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or related field
  • Passing score on the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE)
  • Current CPR certification
