American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience to treat orthopedic and neurological conditions on a day-shift schedule in Gun Barrel City, Texas.
About the role
- Outpatient setting treating chronic, acute, and post-op orthopedic conditions with occasional neurological cases
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Duration: 13 weeks
- 40 hours per week
- Uses Epic for charting
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be considered
- Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- State or compact license must be in hand at time of consideration
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Onboarding requires completion of core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
- Non-billable orientation modules are completed onsite and typically take 2-3 hours for allied health professionals
Responsibilities
- Assessment of patients
- Use of adaptive/assistive devices
- Active Range of Motion (AROM), Active Assistive Range of Motion (AAROM), and Passive Range of Motion (PROM)
- Gait training
- Body mechanics instruction
- Vital sign monitoring
- Treatment of orthopedic conditions such as ankle sprains, Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD), Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD), frozen shoulder, low back pain, sciatica, and joint replacements
- Documentation including evaluations, plans of care, and discharge summaries
- Proficiency with modalities such as cryotherapy, E-stim, ultrasound, and traction
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
- BLS certification required
- TX PT License required if applicable
- Epic charting experience required
