About the role
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a Long Term Acute Care unit, requiring LTAC and community hospital experience with a preference for 2+ years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation for LTAC and acute care patients
- Pass/fail Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test required at orientation with one attempt allowed
- Attendance policy in place; missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review
- All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted with the initial application; requests made afterward will not be considered
- Radius rule of 75 miles applies; local candidates within this radius are not accepted
- First-time travelers may be considered based on prior travel experience requirements
Requirements
- Licenses required if applicable
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- LTAC and Community Hospital experience required
- 2 years of experience preferred; 1 year may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Recent Epic experience preferred but not required for consideration
- Prior travel experience required
- Experience with orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary patient populations
- Proficiency in patient assessment, documentation, and use of therapy equipment such as gait belts, walkers, and lifts
