About the role

Aya Healthcare has an immediate opening for a Physical Therapist in a Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting in Spartanburg, SC.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized Plan of Care with short and long-term goals.
• Provide patient and family education on home exercise programs and adaptive strategies.
• Administer therapeutic interventions including gait training, transfer training, and therapeutic exercise.
• Monitor vital signs and manage patients with complex medical conditions such as COPD, CHF, post-stroke, post-surgical, and neurological disorders.
• Utilize appropriate assistive devices, adaptive equipment, and modalities (e.g., TENS, ultrasound, taping).
• Perform skin integrity assessments and implement pressure injury prevention strategies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, case management, and social work.
• Document patient progress using Epic charting system and ensure compliance with Medicare A, Medicare B, Medicaid, and private pay requirements.

Requirements

• New graduate PTs are welcome to apply.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Experience in acute care, rehabilitation hospital, or LTAC settings preferred.

Skills

• Assessment and evaluation techniques (e.g., AROM/AAROM/PROM, strength testing).
• Gait training and mobility interventions (e.g., gait belt, rolling walker, Hoyer lift).
• Orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation (e.g., post-op spinal/cervical/shoulder repair, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Traumatic Brain Injury).
• Cardiopulmonary management (e.g., COPD, CHF, cystic fibrosis, supplemental oxygen delivery).
• Geriatric care and dementia/Alzheimer’s management.
• Wound care and skin integrity monitoring.
• Patient and family education on safety, adaptive devices, and home modifications.
• Time management and discharge planning.

Pay

Pay range: $2,421 to $2,614 per week (includes taxable wages and tax-free expense reimbursements).

• Schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
• Hours: 08:30 – 16:30
