Travel Physical Therapist - Home Health - $2,846 per week

About the role

American Traveler seeks a Home Health Physical Therapist for a travel assignment in Coastal Virginia (near Virginia Beach and Norfolk). The role involves providing physical therapy treatments in patients’ homes Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM, with a caseload of 6‑7 weighted visits per day and occasional weekend coverage (every 4th or 5th weekend) for orthopedic cases. Experience with MatrixCare or Epic is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.
• Educate patients and caregivers.
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Complete required documentation.
• Direct patient participation in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance.

Requirements

• Valid Virginia PT state license (or compact license).
• CPR certification.
• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience.
• Home health experience preferred.
• No prior license or background check hits.
• Ability to pass required fit testing (facility cannot accommodate a PAPR).

Schedule
