About the role
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 13-week Home Health travel assignment in Kirkland, Washington. This role requires 1+ year of recent home health experience and HCHB EMR experience. The position covers territories in the Tacoma and Seattle areas, including north King County and south King County/north Pierce County, with a primarily geriatric patient population.
The role focuses on evaluations and start of care (SOC) visits. The schedule is day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekend or on-call requirements. The average caseload is 5-7 patients per day, and the territory requires flexibility within up to a 60-mile radius from the office hub. Travelers are expected to visit the main office weekly or biweekly for team meetings and to pick up supplies and admission packets.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations and start of care (SOC) visits
- Develop and implement home exercise programs
- Provide patient and family education
- Treat conditions including orthopedic, neurologic, and post-surgical cases such as total hip/knee replacement, spinal conditions, stroke rehabilitation, and traumatic brain injury
- Timely and accurate documentation using HCHB EMR system
- Maintain clear communication with the team and office
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent Physical Therapy experience
- Home Health experience required
- OASIS experience required
- HCHB EMR experience required
- BLS certification required
- Active license (if applicable)
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Flexibility to cover assigned territory (up to 60-mile radius from office hub)
- Must visit the main office weekly or biweekly for meetings and supplies
- Scrubs required (any color); jeans not permitted
First-time travelers will not be considered for this position. Local candidates accepted at the travel rate.

Pay
Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
