About the role
Skyline Med Staff Therapy is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant for a 13-week assignment starting August 1, 2026, in Canaan, Connecticut.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in the delivery of patient care
- Perform routine patient assessments and record patient progress
- Prepare treatment areas and assist with equipment setup
- Administer therapeutic exercises and treatments as directed
- Document patient encounters and treatment sessions accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year recent work experience in physical therapy assistant
- A current BLS/CPR certification through American Heart Association
- Active license in the state of Connecticut (if applicable)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited physical therapy assistant program
- Passing scores on relevant national certification exams
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
- Basic computer skills for documentation and scheduling
