Travel Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital - $2,480 per week

American Traveler is seeking a travel Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting in Rochester, New York. This is a travel job with a start date of September 21, 2026, and a duration of 13 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Evaluation and treatment planning
• Discharge planning and patient/family education across a variety of diagnoses
• Documentation of assessments, goals, plans of care, and reassessments
• Floating to other units as required

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
• BLS certification required
• Prior experience with a 1:14 patient ratio required
• EPIC charting experience required
• NY state license required if applicable

Skills

• Assessment
• Adaptive devices
• Gait training
• Wheelchair assessment
• Equipment such as Hoyer lifts, sliding boards, and specialty beds
• Experience with cardiopulmonary, orthopedic, neurologic, and geriatric patient populations preferred

Schedule

• Shift: Days, 5x8hrs
• Hours: 40 hrs/wk
• Start Date: Sep 21, 2026
• Length: 13 weeks
• No on-call requirements
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Patient Population

Joint replacement, spine surgery, neurosurgery, GI and vascular surgery, amputations, stroke, Parkinson's, dementia, CHF, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, falls, vestibular disorders, failure to thrive, pneumonia, and cellulitis.
