Travel Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital - $1,909 per week

American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital travel assignment in Topeka, Kansas.

Assignment Overview

• Start Date: September 23, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours: 40 hours per week, 5x8hr shifts
• Shift: Days (either 7:00-15:30 or 8:00-16:30)
• Openings: 1
• 3 weekend days required per 6-week schedule
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Epic charting system preferred
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (locals not accepted)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients across multiple units including ED, ortho/spine unit, Rehab unit, Telemetry unit, and Med-Surg unit
• Float to like units within scope as needed, with brief orientation provided
• Complete onsite required training modules during orientation
• Document assessments, evaluations, discharge planning, and care goals

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Kansas PT license required if applicable
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved
• No RTO permitted during the first week of orientation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with acute care and rehabilitation hospital settings
• Experience treating orthopedic, neurologic, and geriatric patient populations
• Skilled in adaptive and assistive devices, AROM/AAROM/PROM, pain assessment, strength testing, and vital sign monitoring
• Proficient in documentation including assessments, evaluations, discharge planning, and care goals
• Experience with equipment such as Hoyer lifts, gait belts, sliding boards, and specialty beds
• Epic charting system experience
