About the Role
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in an Acute Care setting in Urbana, Illinois. This role involves working with patients of all ages, and new graduates are welcome to apply.
Assignment details:
- Acute care hospital therapy unit
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
- 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
- One weekend shift required per month
- No holiday shifts required
- 13-week contract
- Uses Epic for clinical documentation
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- RTO (Return Time Off) not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients while modifying plans of care as appropriate
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students
- Design individualized care plans integrating goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge planning
- Educate patients, families, caregivers, and other providers using effective teaching methods
- Utilize standardized outcome measures to track functional performance
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the medical team throughout the rehabilitation process
- Provide supervision and feedback to support personnel in accordance with regulatory guidelines
- Communicate patient status, progress, and discharge recommendations with the care team
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required
- Illinois Physical Therapist License required if applicable
- BLS certification required (AHA)
- ACLS and PALS certifications may be required (AHA)
- New graduates will be considered
- Experience with screening procedures, outcome measurement, and clinical documentation
- Experience supervising support personnel such as PTAs and rehab technicians
- Skilled in patient examination methods and physical therapy diagnosis
Pay
Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
