About the role
TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Physical Therapist for an immediate opening in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The position is a 13‑week travel assignment with 40 hours per week on 8‑hour day shifts. The ideal candidate has 1 year of experience, though exceptional candidates with 6 months may be considered. As a PT, you will evaluate, develop, and execute plans of care for diverse patient populations in an acute care setting. TotalMed Allied Job ID #1526858.
Responsibilities
- Oversee supervising PTAs and support staff (therapy technicians)
- Bill within the respective setting, following facility guidelines
- Understand and comply with the respective PT board’s rules and regulations
- Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure a team‑focused plan of care
- Understand adaptive equipment
- Evaluate and create a plan of care
- Modify plan of care as indicated based on patient’s condition
- Use Medical Center computer systems in performance of daily tasks
- Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of experience (new graduates encouraged to apply); 1 year preferred
- Current BLS certification
- State‑specific Physical Therapist license
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lean, or stoop for extended periods
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Additional certifications may be required before assignment start

Pay
Pay package is based on 8‑hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
