Location Hot Springs, SD Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule/Shift 8-hour shifts Tuesday - Saturday. Job Description The Physical Therapist will support the treatment of illnesses and injuries through various physical exercises and therapies designed to assist in the rehabilitation and restoration of body functions, promoting maximum client wellness and independence. This role involves providing therapy programs for patients of all ages, including those with developmental deficits, physical injuries, or illnesses. Responsibilities Coordinate PT services and provide assigned clients with direct therapeutic care. Teach rehabilitation skills to clients and/or caregivers to enhance independent functionality and safety. Develop and revise a plan of care based on initial assessments, continual reassessment, and client goals, including discharge plans when necessary. Administer treatments using physical agents such as heat, water, and electricity, utilizing equipment like whirlpool baths and ultrasound. Document all skilled and medically necessary care accurately and timely to comply with relevant guidelines and requirements. Participate in quality management programs and complete in-service programs to maintain skill competency. Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides according to applicable regulations and standards. Required Experience Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of South Dakota. Experience in developing and executing physical therapy treatment plans. Certifications/Licensure Current Physical Therapist (PT) license required.
