Travel Physical Therapist - $2,107 per week

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Physical Therapist for an immediate 13‑week assignment in Birmingham, Alabama. The position is in an acute care setting, requiring 40 hours per week on 8‑hour day shifts. The therapist will evaluate patients, develop and modify plans of care, oversee PTAs and support staff, handle billing, and coordinate with physicians and medical center personnel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervising PTAs and support staff (therapy technicians)
• Provide billing services following facility‑specific guidelines
• Understand and comply with the state PT board’s rules and regulations
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure a team‑focused plan of care
• Understand adaptive equipment
• Evaluate patients and create a plan of care
• Modify the plan of care as indicated by the patient’s condition
• Use Medical Center computer systems for daily tasks and documentation
• Provide timely and accurate documentation per state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of experience (1 year preferred; new graduates encouraged)
• Current BLS certification
• Valid state‑specific Physical Therapist license
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and to bend, lean or stoop without difficulty

Qualifications

• BLS certification
• Active state PT license
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment

Skills

• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Proficiency with Medical Center computer systems for documentation and daily tasks
• Ability to evaluate patients, create, and modify plans of care
• Skill in overseeing PTAs and support staff, managing billing, and interfacing with physicians
