Travel Physical Therapist - $2,044 per week

About the role

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Physical Therapist for an immediate opening in Newport News, Virginia. The assignment is 13 weeks, 40 hours per week on 8‑hour day shifts, travel employment type. The PT will evaluate, develop, and execute plans of care for diverse patient populations in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervising PTAs and support staff (therapy technicians)
• Bill within the respective setting, following facility guidelines
• Understand and comply with the state PT board’s rules and regulations
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure a team‑focused plan of care
• Understand adaptive equipment
• Evaluate and create a plan of care
• Modify the plan of care based on patient condition
• Use Medical Center computer systems for daily tasks
• Provide timely and accurate documentation per state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of PT experience (1 year preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply)
• Current BLS certification
• Valid state‑specific Physical Therapist license
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and to bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology

Pay

Pay package is based on 8‑hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
