About the role
TalentBurst, Inc is seeking a travel Physical Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Manhattan, Kansas. This position offers a 36-hour work week with a minimum guarantee of 32 hours per week, scheduled as 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) over 5 days.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of patient care records for all assigned cases.
- Report correct billing information to the Director of Physical Therapy.
- Provide direct patient care, including evaluation and treatment planning as prescribed.
- Assist with transfers, gait, and balance training based on patient mobility levels (minimum to maximum assistance).
- Perform manual manipulation, including pushing and/or pulling of patient body parts and limbs.
- Report and interpret treatment results.
- Develop and present in-services for the facility as requested.
- Supervise support personnel in immediate work areas as appropriate.
- Perform clinical functions: screens, evaluations, development of treatment plans, and delivery of treatment in accordance with facility, Medicare, and client policies.
- Participate in patient care meetings as appropriate.
- Assist with community education and public relations activities of the facility when needed.
- Educate patients' families and staff on specific treatment plans and therapy goals.
- Coordinate and cooperate with other staff members to carry out established treatment plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
- Current certification with the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Licensed by the State in the designated geographic area for the respective therapy profession.
- Demonstrated ability to safely lift, turn, move, position, and transport patients into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc., without posing a threat to self, co-workers, caregivers, or patients.
- Ability to perform minimal assist transfers, defined as lifting and controlling 50 pounds.
