About the role

The Occupational Therapist will work in a dynamic inpatient rehab setting in Asheville, NC, focusing on a variety of conditions, including traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, orthopedic, cardiac, spinal cord injury (SCI), pulmonary issues, and general debility. This role involves developing and implementing patient-centered treatment plans and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Implement therapy interventions using a variety of specialized equipment and techniques.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for patient progress and care coordination.
• Train patients and their families on home exercise programs and equipment usage.
• Monitor and manage patient safety and compliance with rehabilitation protocols.

Requirements

• A minimum degree in Occupational Therapy and current licensure to practice in North Carolina.
• Experience in an inpatient rehab hospital setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in safe patient handling techniques.
• Familiarity with protocols related to skin integrity, bowel/bladder programs, and adaptive equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with critical thinking and time management abilities.

Pay

Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
