About the role
This position is ideal for a technician with strong hospital pharmacy experience and expertise in sterile compounding.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and package medications accurately under pharmacist supervision.
- Pull medications from stock and match medications to pharmacist-generated labels.
- Fill and deliver unit-dose medication cassettes to nursing units.
- Maintain medication inventory, including restocking and rotating stock.
- Remove expired medications and maintain floor stock in nursing units.
- Prepare IV medications in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Process wholesaler and supplier orders, returns, and back orders.
- Assist with inventory management and other pharmacy-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of recent hospital pharmacy experience
- Sterile compounding experience
- Current California Pharmacy Technician License
- Strong knowledge of medication preparation and distribution processes
Preferred
- Associate's or Technical Degree
- Pharmacy Technician Board Certification (PTCB)
