About the Role
We are looking for an Echocardiogram Technologist (Echo Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Martinsburg, WV. The right Echo Tech must have 1 year of experience. As an Echo Tech, you will be responsible for the use of the cardiac ultrasound machine and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation. Echo Techs are also responsible for the preparation of and caring for patients undergoing echocardiograms.
Responsibilities
- Educate patients and/or patient's family regarding procedures performed
- Demonstrate competence in performance of echocardiographic studies
- Consistently perform quality Doppler and color Doppler exams
- Acquire quality Stress Echo and Dobutamine images according to Physician and benchmark standards
- Perform quality Trans esophageal echocardiograms according to physician expectations
- Demonstrate an understanding of cardiac disease processes and acquired images
- Report findings or concerns to reading physician for prompt interpretation
- Perform all related processing required for each completed study
- Maintain equipment including cleaning and disinfecting according to department procedure and identifying problems with equipment and reporting appropriately
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience (2 years preferred per additional certification note)
- BLS certification
- ARDMS-RDCS or CCI-RS National Certification (ARDMS RDMS AE also accepted)
- State-specific licensing when required
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Pay & Schedule
Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined. Shift: 8 hours, days. Duration: 13 weeks.
