About the role
Respiratory Therapist PEDS Columbus South. This position involves providing specialized respiratory care to pediatric patients within a healthcare setting. The role includes evaluating patient needs, administering treatments, and educating patients and families upon discharge to ensure optimal respiratory health and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Provide routine and advanced respiratory treatments
- Operate ventilatory equipment
- Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning
- Monitor oxygenation
- Conduct pulmonary function studies
- Assist with procedures
- Ensure proper documentation
- Perform procedures such as bronchoscopy assistance, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, arterial punctures, and ventilator management
- Maintain adherence to BLS and ACLS guidelines
- Perform proper equipment testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Record all treatments and patient responses accurately
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team
- Report any significant observations or concerns
- Assist with laboratory testing policies
- Ensure quality control
- Support equipment repairs and preventative maintenance
Requirements
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) required
- Relevant healthcare education with a focus on respiratory therapy
- 0 years of experience required
Schedule
- Days shift
- 12-hour shifts
- Minimum 36 hours per week
