About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Pediatrics OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Tacoma, Washington. The position is an immediate opening with a start date of 11/02/2026, duration of 13 weeks, and employment type of travel. The right RN will have at least 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor medical operations.
• Advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries.
• Plan long-term care needs.
• Document medical history.
• Check for any allergies the patients might have.
• Obtain patients' vital signs.
• Monitor patients' emotional and physical well-being.
• Assist with moving and positioning of patient.
• Manage care of patient in the OR according to hospital policy.
• Ensure all patient paperwork is completed prior to procedure.
• Watch for signs and symptoms of impaired gas exchange related to anesthesia.
• Remain by the patient's side until anesthesia has been successfully induced.
• Stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Face hazards from exposure to certain chemicals or infectious diseases in the operating room environment.

Requirements

• BLS certification.
• 5 years of experience (as indicated in the posting).
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Schedule

• Shift: 10 hours, days
• 40 hours per week
