Travel Pediatric OR RN - $2,548 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a Pediatric Operating Room RN for an immediate travel nursing opening in Madison, Wisconsin. This is a 13-week travel assignment with 40 hours per week on 10-hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor medical operations
• Advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries
• Plan long-term care needs
• Document medical history
• Check for any allergies patients might have
• Obtain patients' vital signs
• Monitor patients' emotional and physical well-being
• Assist with moving and positioning of patient
• Manage care of patient in the OR according to hospital policy
• Ensure all patient paperwork is completed prior to procedure
• Watch for signs and symptoms of impaired gas exchange related to anesthesia
• Remain by the patient's side until anesthesia has been successfully induced

Requirements

• At least 1-2 years of recent acute care experience
• BLS certification
• PALS certification
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time when moving or lifting patients
