Travel Pediatric OR RN - $2,128 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a travel nurse RN Pediatrics OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Oklahoma, Oklahoma. The right RN will have at least 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor medical operations
• Advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries
• Plan long-term care needs
• Document medical history
• Check for any allergies patients might have
• Obtain patients' vital signs
• Monitor patients' emotional and physical well-being
• Assist with moving and positioning of patient
• Manage care of patient in the OR according to hospital policy
• Ensure all patient paperwork is completed prior to procedure
• Watch for signs and symptoms of impaired gas exchange related to anesthesia
• Remain by the patient's side until anesthesia has been successfully induced

Requirements

• BLS certification
• PALS certification
• 2 years of experience
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at a time
• Ability to work in environment with potential exposure to certain chemicals or infectious diseases
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
