Travel Pediatric Oncology RN - $2,456 per week

TotalMed is seeking an Oncology RN for an immediate travel nursing opening in Oklahoma City, OK. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience. Oncology Travel Nurses are crucial in creating a supportive care environment and should be prepared to coordinate treatment plans, provide patient education and treatment tracking, and be a reliable source of comfort and support for cancer patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Provide top-level care for critically or chronically ill cancer patients
• Administer chemotherapy under direction from a physician
• Implement new methods of symptom treatment
• Monitor patients' progress
• Educate cancer patients about treatment options and procedures
• Coordinate treatment plans
• Provide patient education and treatment tracking
• Attend to a great number of details while working under pressure
• Implement best practice treatment protocols in a variety of settings

Requirements

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience
• BLS certification
• PALS certification
• CHEMO certification
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
• Able to easily lift 20 pounds
• May require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times for moving or lifting patients
• Able to work in environments with potential hazards from exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases

Schedule

8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week, 13-week duration.

Pay

Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
