Travel Pediatric ER RN - $2,408 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Pediatrics ER - Emergency Room for a travel nursing job in Norfolk, Virginia. The position is an immediate opening for Pediatric Emergency Room RNs. The ideal candidate will have at least 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience and be available for travel assignments.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team of caregivers to appropriately evaluate, triage and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.
• Perform minor medical operations.
• Advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries.
• Plan long‑term care needs.
• Document medical history.
• Check for any allergies the patients might have.
• Obtain patients' vital signs.
• Monitor patients' emotional and physical well‑being.
• Provide basic bedside care to pediatric patients.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality in nurse/child relationships.
• Participate in activities to manage a child's pain.
• Evaluate a child for signs and symptoms of abuse.
• Serve as a child advocate.
• Stand and walk for long periods of time; bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Move or lift patients, requiring lifting of up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Possess good skills for coping with stress.
• Relate to people of all ages and backgrounds, especially the adolescent population.

Requirements

• Specialty: Pediatrics ER - Emergency Room
• Discipline: RN
• At least 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience
• BLS certification
• PALS certification
• CPI certification
• 3 years of experience (as indicated in the requirements)
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Pay

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
