Travel PCU Stepdown RN

About the role

Stepdown RN responsible for caring for patients transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical units, requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, assist during cardiac procedures, and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Observe and record patient conditions, respond to cardiac emergencies, and document assessments.
• Develop and implement patient education plans focused on cardiac health and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.
• Maintain confidentiality, adhere to safety protocols, and perform additional duties within scope of practice.

Qualifications & Skills

• One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
• Valid RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications; PCCN and NIHSS preferred.
• Critical thinking, effective communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to move equipment and assist patients, with visual acuity and mental resilience to work under pressure.
