Travel PCU Stepdown Registered Nurse - $2,301 per week
Junxion Med Staffing is seeking a PCU - Progressive Care Unit RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Council Bluffs, Iowa, starting August 17, 2026.
About the Role
This position involves 12-hour night shifts with a total of 36 hours per week. The assignment is for travel nurses with experience in managing heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, and stroke patients. Charge nurses are present each shift and take a full patient assignment. RNs may be required to float to ICU if appropriate and possess the necessary experience.
Responsibilities
- Titrate drips, including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro
- Read and interpret telemonitor strips
- Manage CPAP equipment
- Follow a strict fingernail policy (artificial nails prohibited)
- Pass a Pass/Fail skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90% (open book exam)
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Valid driver’s license (required at submittal to confirm residence radius compliance)
- Experience with heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, and stroke patient management
- Ability to float to ICU if appropriate and experienced

Pay
Estimated weekly pay includes projected hourly wages and weekly meal and lodging per diems for eligible clinicians based on nationally published GSA rates. Actual weekly pay and per diems may differ and are subject to change during the assignment.
