Travel PCU/Step-down RN - $2,200 per week

About the role

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Step-down) assignment in Rapid City, South Dakota. This is a 13‑week travel contract starting 11/16/2026, with 36 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessment who are not unstable enough for ICU care.
• Monitor cardiac and other critical vital signs; detect changes to enable intervention in life‑threatening or emergency situations.
• Administer and titrate complex medications based on patient vital signs.
• Utilize computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information.
• Function as a step‑down nurse in units also known as cardiac step‑down, medical step‑down, neuro step‑down, surgical step‑down, or ER holding.

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Degree from an accredited nursing program
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Eighteen months of recent experience in an acute care PCU/Step‑down setting
• Additional requirements may be determined by the client facility

Pay & schedule
