Requirements

• Active New York RN license (must already be in hand – no exceptions)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/IMCU or MedSurg experience
• Ability to manage a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio
• BLS and NIHSS certification (NIHSS must be included in submittal)
• EPIC charting experience
• First-time travelers and local candidates (75+ mile radius) accepted

Responsibilities

• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via continuous telemetry monitoring
• Operate Rapid Response and Code teams
• Provide peripheral IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Administer and titrate medicated IV infusions
• Manage non-invasive airway support (nasal cannula, face masks, portable oxygen, BIPAP)
• Care for patients with arterial lines, central lines, and pulse-oximetry
• Adhere to isolation precautions and evidence-based protocols
• Work every other weekend on a 4×12-night schedule

About the Unit

The 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is a critical-care step-down unit that receives patients from the Emergency Department, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, ICU, and medical-surgical floors. The adult, acute-care population requires specialized monitoring and interventions beyond general MedSurg capacity, including continuous pulse-oximetry, telemetry, airway management, and titrated IV medications.
