Travel PCU RN - $2,877 per week
About the role
TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Kearney, Nebraska. The assignment lasts 13 weeks with 48 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. The role is for an immediate travel nurse opening. PCU RNs care for patients who need close monitoring and frequent assessment but are not unstable enough for ICU care. They use computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital signs, detect changes, and enable intervention for life‑threatening situations. Close observation is essential because many PCU patients receive complex medications, sometimes via intravenous lines that require adjustment or titration. The PCU RN is also known as a step‑down nurse, and the unit may be referred to as cardiac stepdown, medical stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgical stepdown, or ER holding. TotalMed RN is a Top Ten travel nursing and healthcare staffing agency that places clinicians nationwide to ensure adequate staffing and better patient experiences.
