Travel PCU RN - $2,426 per week

About the Role

Modern Healthcare Solutions is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel nursing job in the Acute Leukemia unit in Columbus, Ohio. This role involves providing exceptional patient care for adults and geriatric patients with newly diagnosed acute leukemia. The position requires rotating shifts, including a mix of day and night assignments, based on department needs.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention strategies.
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Utilize Rapid Response Teams as needed.
• Administer IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood products.
• Manage feeding tubes, central lines, and PICC lines.
• Provide comprehensive assessments and care plans for patients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations.
• Strong skills in telemetry monitoring and interpretation.
• Capable of managing IVs, blood draws, and peripheral line care.

Certifications

Required:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Preferred:

• ONS Chemo Certification
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Work Environment

This position is within a fast-paced unit with a targeted staffing ratio of 1:4, potentially adjusting to 1:5 based on staffing needs. Weekend assignments may vary based on unit requirements.

Pay and Schedule
Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation), with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined. Start date is 10/19/2026, with a duration of 16 weeks.
