The RN will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, supporting a diverse range of medical conditions including cardiac and stroke patients. Shift Information Unit: PCU Shift Length: 12 hours Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Shift Type: Nights Essential Responsibilities Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare team. Monitor patient status and report any changes to the charge nurse. Titrate medications such as Heparin, Octreotide, and Insulin, along with other IV infusions. Participate in patient education and support the care plan developed by the multidisciplinary team. Conduct assessments and record vital signs to ensure comprehensive documentation of patient care. Collaborate with nursing aides and patient care technicians to provide high-quality patient care. Assist in the management of acute medical and surgical patients, including floating to ICU/ED when required. Unit Details Unit Type: Stepdown Acute Beds: 28 Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:4 Patient Population: Adults with mixed medical/surgical conditions. Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar setting. Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS. Physical Requirement: Must be able to assist with patient mobility using specialty equipment. Additional Information The RN will engage in departmental orientation, including classroom instruction followed by hands-on training shifts. Teamwork and a positive attitude are essential for success in this high flow unit with frequent admissions, discharges, and transfers.
