The ideal candidate will have experience in a stepdown unit and be committed to providing high-quality patient care. Unit Information Unit Type: Stepdown Number of Beds: 24 Patient Ratios: 1:4-5, utilizing virtual nursing on day and night shifts Common Diagnoses: CHF, PNA, Sepsis, Stroke/TIA, COPD, PE, AKI Key Responsibilities Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to patients in the stepdown unit. Competently care for stroke patients and manage multiple complex health conditions. Titrate medications and manage drips, including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nicardipine, and Dobutamine. Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, reading strips as necessary. Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to promote patient-centered care. Qualifications Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a related nursing role. Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Shifts and Scheduling Shift Length: 12 hours Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Scheduling: Self-scheduling with one extra shift per six-week period. Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend, with additional opportunities available. Holiday Requirement: Holidays divided by weekend rotation. Orientation and Training A comprehensive orientation program will consist of three shifts assigned to your specific unit, ensuring you are well-prepared for patient care responsibilities. Additional Notes Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Candidates are expected to arrive at the hospital within one hour when called in.
