About the role

Join AMN Healthcare Nursing as a Travel Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a facility in Puyallup, WA. The hospital features a Level III trauma center and specialized services in heart and vascular care, neurology, and orthopedics. You will provide high‑quality care to patients who require close monitoring and specialized nursing interventions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to PCU patients, including monitoring vital signs and cardiac rhythms.
• Manage advanced equipment such as chest tubes, lumbar drains, and tracheostomies.
• Perform IV medication titration (e.g., amiodarone, Cardizem, nitroglycerin, dopamine, dobutamine, non‑DKA insulin, heparin, occasionally Cardene).
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to emergent situations.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) for documentation and care coordination.
• Float to the Emergency Department as needed and assist with patient hand‑offs.

Requirements

• Active RN license (compact accepted; copy required).
• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (copy required).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (copy required).
• Familiarity with EMR systems.
• Recent PCU skills checklist (within 12 months).
• PCU reference within the last 12 months.
• At least one professional reference from the past 12 months.
• Willingness to float to the ED and handle patient transfers.

Pay

Pay rate: $2,050.00 – $2,155.00 (per pay period, based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week; tax‑free stipend amount to be determined).
