About the Role

This position requires a Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care for patients in a post-operative open heart setting, ensuring adherence to the health system's mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Provide pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access.
  • Manage chest tubes and other drains, including removal and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythm strips, responding to changes in cardiac rhythms.
  • Assist with the management of temporary pacers and non-invasive ventilation devices.
  • Float to all units within skill level as required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in nursing is required.
  • Post-operative open heart care experience is essential.
  • Critical care experience is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in cardiac monitoring is required.
  • Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Active American Heart Association ACLS certification.
  • Current Ohio RN license or Compact RN license is required.

Schedule

This is a 12-hour day shift position with a 36-hour guarantee.

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
