Travel PCU RN - $1,757 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Columbia, South Carolina. The assignment is 13 weeks, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients; interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action when monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
• Observe patients receiving complex medications, often via intravenous lines that may need adjustment or titration.

Requirements

• Current RN license.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications (additional certifications may be required before assignment).
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 pounds routinely, with occasional patient lifts up to 50 pounds.
• Good stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
