Skills Required

• Work Settings: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, ER Holding, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
• Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry on-unit and remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams
• Cardiovascular: Post Cardiac, Angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery
• Endocrine/Metabolic: IV insulin protocols
• Gastrointestinal: Feeding tube care and management
• Genitourinary/Renal: Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure
• IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Phlebotomy, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs
• MEDICATIONS: Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips (no titration), PCA, Procedural Sedation Administration, Titrate Cardiac drips
• Neurological/Psychiatric: CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident)
• Orthopedics: Peripheral nerve block catheters, Total Joint Replacements
• Plastics: Surgical drains
• Respiratory: Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Non-invasive airway management, Tracheostomy Management
• Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac

Skills Preferred

• IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Accessing Ports
• Oncology: Monitoring Chemotherapy

Charting System Experience Preferred

• Epic

Licensure

• Must have both Kansas and Missouri or compact license at time of submission

Additional Requirements

• Regular floating may be required between departments, units and facility as needed
• No local candidates accepted within 75 mile radius
• Permanent employees (across BJC and/or Saint Lukes) must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
