Junxion Med Staffing is seeking a PCU/Stepdown RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Kansas City, Missouri, starting August 31, 2026.
About the Role
This position is in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and requires 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts. The assignment duration is 13 weeks.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, including telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)
- Provide care for patients in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, ER Holding, Neuro Stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings
- Manage cardiovascular conditions: post-cardiac angiogram, post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery
- Administer and monitor IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, and cardiac drips (with and without titration)
- Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy: blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care, PICC line management, starting IVs, accessing ports
- Manage feeding tubes, surgical drains, and wound care/wound vacs
- Provide respiratory care: chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), tracheostomy management
- Administer procedural sedation, PCA, and non-invasive airway management
- Care for orthopedic patients: peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacements
- Manage pre/post hemodialysis, renal failure, and CVA patients
- Utilize rapid response/code teams and follow isolation precautions
- Monitor chemotherapy (preferred skill)
Requirements
- Active RN license
- 2 years of PCU experience (previous charge and teaching hospital experience preferred)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Experience with Epic charting system (preferred)

Pay
Estimated weekly pay includes projected hourly wages and weekly meal/lodging per diems based on nationally published GSA rates. Actual pay may vary and is subject to change during the assignment.
